Movie Monday “Cheese”

I read voraciously, and I like to think that I have pretty good tastes in literature. My taste in movies and television is…quirky…to say the least. I mostly like action adventure films (car crashes and shit blowing up) and (some) sci-fi and horror movies.

Here’s some of my favs that are probably just a little bit cheesy/atypical of my usual taste in films…try not to laugh 🙂 I’m feeling melancholy and a little bit dreamy and wistfully nostalgic today…

  1. Love your choice of Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, and I really do miss Nora Ephron as a writer and director of films.
Looking at her catalogue of classics, she really was a great story teller of human interaction and life in a wonderful escapist world where her character’s lives are just that little bit sweeter, giving the rest of us hope.
You’ve Got Mail may not be my #1 romantic movie of the 90s, but that’s only because there are so many other great contenders. I love a bit of dial up internet too!

    1. 🙂 Not the most romantic person in the world…I generally watch movies with car crashes and things blowing up, so that should say something about those movies–if I watch them and enjoy them! 🙂 What are your favs..any other recommendations?

      1. I’m not generally big on romantic movies, I just have a weakness for 1990’s vintage Meg Ryan.
My DVD collection ranges from Citizen Kane to Smokey and the Bandit, but I’m not a fan of the new releases. The last movie I watched was an Australian film from 1971 called Wake in Fright. It was exceptional!
